Daphni, aka Dan Snaith, aka Caribou, launches his new label, Jiaolong. This isn’t his first try under the disco-funk alias; he has two releases out on the Resista label under the name Daphni, and they are both otherworldly. This limited 12” comprises of three tracks one of which, ‘Yes I know’, was featured on his Resident Advisor podcast. The a-side features a revision of Togolese monster hit, ‘Ne Noya’, from afro-beat sensations, Cos-Ber-Zam, and it falls into a dancehall afro-beat number that gets treatment from Dan’s ingenious electronic orchestrations and syncopations.
