On an a sunny summer afternoon I met up with Ashkahn in the heart of Los Angeles where he lives and works in his cozy apartment that he just moved into. The prolific artist showed me plenty of his recent works, along with some new pieces that he has planned in the mix. We then walked down the street to Reform School, an incredibly charming store where Ashkahn is currently curating a pop up shop selling his artwork on pins, prints, pillows, pencils, and even thongs. Yes, thongs. After going through the store, we ended up going to a tiny cheese shop nearby where we attacked the samples repeatedly till we just couldn’t any longer. Whether it’d be his artwork or his personality, I’ve learned that Ashkahn will be sure to leave you smiling unconditionally.
